Situated north of the Lavernó ravine, Sant Sadurní d'Anoia is renowned for its Cava. This sparkling Catalan wine is made by adding sugar and yeast to Penedès wine, which is then stored in traditional bottles to produce a second fermentation. More than 60 companies, including Codorniu and Freixenet, are based here, exporting cava around the world.
