The famous Plaza de la Quintana stands at the foot of the cathedral. In its lower section, it is bordered by the former Casa de la Canónica (Canon’s Residence), with its simple and well-arranged arcades. Opposite, note the Puerta del Perdón (Door of Pardon), built in 1611 by Fernandez Lechuga. At the top of the stairs, the Casa de la Parra is a delightful Baroque building. This attractive square is particularly lively, mainly because of the many students who congregate here.
