All the pieces on display here come from Taragona and its surroundings. The museum has the finest collections of Roman mosaics in Catalonia. The most extraordinary of all is without a doubt the mosaic of Medusa, with he penetrating gaze. On the 2nd floor stand some magnificent sculptures, including the bust of Lucius Verus which is one of the best of its kind, and the little votive sculpture of Venus.
