A fine plateresque building, the façade of which is the work of Covarrubias. The interior architecture is notable for the size of the nave and the transept, which depict a Greek cross on two levels. The museum houses a fine collection of paintings and 18 canvases by El Greco. The various stages of the master's life are represented, notably the later period by the altarpiece of the Assumption. Note also the elegant plateresque patio and the magnificent staircase.
