The castle-monastery dominates the village. It was begun in 1529 but most of the work was actually overseen by Francisco de Mora (1560-1610), disciple of Spanish architect Herrera. You enter the monastery by a splendid Baroque portal. Don't miss the elaborate coping of the Baroque well in the courtyard or the magnificent coffered ceiling. As you walk from building to building you will be treated to a panoramic view.
