The grandson of Louis XIV, Felipe V wanted a garden which reminded him of his childhood. The layout of the 358-acre parkland was entrusted to landscape gardeners Carlier and Boutelou, who were naturally enough inspired by Versailles but nonetheless left their own individual stamp on the garden. Forest perspectives and wooded avenues in the French style link together other parts of the garden which feature a more Moorish style. Don't miss the fountains at Neptune's Basin, the Nueva Cascada or the Fuente de la Fama (Fame Fountain).
