Founded in the reign of Philip V (although the current building dates from 1770, Charles III’s time), this rare example of Spanish industrial architecture today houses the National Glass Centre and a Glass museum, displaying pieces made in situ and the original technology. The contemporary section is simply magnificent. Note the masterful transposition of Velazquez’s Las Meninas onto painted glass.
