The Costa Verde west of Gijon

The Costa Verde, one of the most beautiful coasts in Spain, owes its name to the colour of the sea and its shores green with eucalyptus and pine trees. You'll be enchanted by the landscape between Gijon and Ría de Ribadeo, full of cliffs, sandy beaches, creeks and little fishing harbours (like Luarca). In addition, the coast has the Cantabrian mountains and the Picos de Europa as a stunning backdrop, which you can admire from a natural viewpoint such as Cape Vidio.

Near the lighthouse is the best place to enjoy the extensive views of this inhospitable section of coastline. To the right, the panorama extends as far as Cabo de Peñas and to the left, as far as Cabo Busto.
