Andermatt (alt. 1 436 m) is the Swiss Alps' crossroads par excellence, for Gothard, Furka and Oberalp routes. Local activity, tinged with southern exuberance, spreads along a narrow thoroughfare. The resort's main sports facilities lie in the Nätschen area, regularly served by a railway shuttle service and chair lifts, as well as the cable car-equipped Gemsstock slopes.
