The collections of this museum illustrate the periods of Antiquity from pre-Hellenic times to the end of the Roman epoch. Marble sculptures, bronze and terracotta statuettes, stelae, sarcophagi, vases, amphorae, weapons, Etruscan objects, etc., are exhibited on two floors. Note in particular the "Relief of the Basel doctor", a funerary stela dating from the 5C B.C., and the marble sarcophagus representing the legend of Medea.
