This museum, which is housed in an old church, is a showcase for admirable collections tracing the history of Basel. Here is some very attractive furniture, in several reconstituted rooms, and many objects (coins, tapestries, fountains, etc.). Several religious sculptures and stained-glass windows are also exhibited, among which fragments of the Danse Macabre by K. Witz (15C), a fresco made during the era of the Council of Basel.
