This museum, which also contains a large natural science section, offers varied collections in ethnography: masks, weapons, fabrics, ceramics from all over the world, and works of art from Oceania (major collections on Melanesia) and pre-Colombian America. Testimonies from ancient Egypt precede the part devoted to Europe and the Swiss traditions where the festival of the carnival occupies a large area.
