This museum, which is very attractive in terms of both its substance and form, evokes various aspects of land life: animals in their reconstructed natural environments, threatened species and extinct species, such as the dodo, a large bird exterminated in the 18C, and also reptiles and amphibians. Palaeontology, mineralogy and geology are all on the programme, with an evocation of prehistoric fauna and a part reserved for hominids.
