Olten Travel guide
Olten : Michelin's recommendations
Olten, on the Jura border, is on a pleasant spot at the Aare's edge. A wooden covered bridge for pedestrians only leads to the old town. Extensive industrial activity has modified the look of the town since the early 20C, extending as it does now from one side to the other of the Aare. Among the local sights is a historical museum with a well-known prehistory section.

This museum is worth a visit for the works of Martin Disteli (1802-1844) in several of the rooms. His caricatures, studies and drawings are remarkably detailed and among the most interesting items.
