Rheinau : Michelin's recommendations
This town, set prettily in a Rhine meander, is downstream from the famous falls. It was the seat of a Benedictine abbey located on an island in the river. In 1956 a hydroelectric dam was built upstream from the little town, its reservoir extending over 6.5km, as far as the Rhine falls.
