How could anyone not be charmed by this old village around a simple and harmonious-looking Roman church belonging to an abbey (Moûtier) founded in the 5C by St Romain, later under the Cluny monks in the 10C? The abbey controlled seven priories, twenty parish churches, thirty villages and fifty fiefs.
