The Stiftbibliothek has an extensive and priceless collection of some 160 000 volumes, among which the 2 000 local manuscripts (8C-12C) and 1 650 incunabula are the rarest pieces. The hall is considered to be the finest Rococo style room in the country and is the work of the artists who built the cathedral. The rich wood panelling, marquetry flooring and painted ceiling all add to the magnificence of the place.
