Built from 1755 to 1768 in the place of a 14C Gothic building, the cathedral is striking for its simple exterior that contrasts with the rich décor of the interior. This masterpiece of the Voralberg school is centred on the cupola that stands above a rotunda in the centre of the immense nave. The remarkable choir leads off to the east from here.
