This lakeside castle facing the peaks of the Berne Alps is an enchanting scene immortalised on countless Swiss postcards. Affiliated to the Berne history museum, it has period furniture and Bernese Oberland folk art. The top floor of the keep has un unexpected Turkish smoking room, an Orientalist folly added by Count Albert de Pourtales, for many years a diplomat in Constantinople. The park has a lovely lakeside promenade, looking out over the Bernese Oberland.
