Yverdon, at the southern tip of Lake Neufchâtel, has had sulphur- and magnesium-rich waters springing up from some 500m below ground for thousands of years. A large Celt and then Gallo-Roman town, Yverdon still has vestiges left of a castrum, near the cemetery. Its town hall and its castle are also worthy of attention.
