On a rocky outcrop, the ruins of Misox overlook the Mesolcina Valley and the San Bernardino Passage. Dismantled by the Grison "Ligues", this fortified building was saved from destruction by Swiss students in 1924. The most impressive remains are those of the Romanesque campanile and the chapel. At the foot of the castle, the chapel of St Mary has a fine collection of 15C frescos.
