The road leading to the lower station of the ski lift heads left off the main Kandersteg road just after the bridge at Oeschinenach. From the upper station, a path descends to the shores of a lake in a vast amphitheatre surrounded by cliffs and topped by the snowy Blümlisalp massif. On reaching the lake, walkers have various paths to choose from; keener types will want to return to Kandersteg on foot. A summer luge run (Rodelbahn) will appeal to thrill-seekers.
