Kerak is remarkable on account of its imposing fortress, within which lies the town to this day. It is pleasant to take a morning stroll through its particularly lively and authentic market and along the town’s streets. Note that some of the buildings have been constructed using stone from the fortress. Don’t miss the church of the Baptism of St George with its huge Byzantine baptistery.
