Standing on the site of the biblical town of Nebo (remains of a tell behind the church), the rectangular church has a vast 6C mosaic. The altar pavement has two lambs flanking a tree. In the nave, a lower register depicts pastoral and hunting scenes within scrolling vines. An upper register has animals confronting each other and fruit trees. Note the freshness of the mosaic of the fisherman near the door.
