Sport and leisure activities

Syria cannot really be said to be paradise for sporting enthusiasts. Only the large hotels are equipped with sports facilities such as swimming pool and tennis courts.

The nightlife is relatively tame too, with the exception of a few lively districts in Damascus and Aleppo. Most cafés are empty after midnight.

Some hotel bars do put on concerts by Arab singers.
