Many of the very best handicrafts in all of Thailand are produced right here in the North. We will visit a number of workshops and factories where these Northern handicrafts are made, from along Sankampaeng Road to the village of Bo Sang.
Bo Sang is known as the umbrella-making village, and here you will see how we make saa' paper from mulberry trees, and make a wide range of products from it, including the village's famous painted umbrellas. On the way back to Chiang Mai, there is a myriad of other handicraft industries to visit and see including silk and cotton weaving, lacquer ware, silverware, teak wood furniture carving, gems and jewellery, ceramics and pottery. At the workshops you will see demonstrations of how these products are made, with showrooms of their products.
On this tour we can be as flexible as you wish. Just let your guide on the day know which of these you would like to see and we will do our best to fit in with everyone's wishes.
