A bell-shaped chedi marks the centre of Wat Khao Suwan Khiri, perched on the top of a hill (hence its name, which means “temple of the golden hill”) in the heart of the forest. There are few ruins here, but the view of the old city of Si Satchanalai and its chedi, the river and surrounding countryside is breathtaking.
