This small village with a main street lined by attractive wooden houses attracts travellers who head here to enjoy the sublime views of the Mekong’s red-coloured waters. A number of charming sights also await visitors, such as the Tan Thip waterfalls (Nam Tok Tan Thip – 3km west along road 211) and the Laotian island of Don Klang Khong, a tiny haven of greenery rising out of the water and accessed via canoe (no visa required).
