El Haouaria : Michelin's recommendations

Located at the tip of the Cap Bon peninsula, the small seaside resort of El Haouaria boasts an attractive white sandy beach. In June every year a Falconry Festival is held here, at which falconers display birds of prey captured during the migration and subsequently trained for hunting. Not far from the village, the Ghar el-Kebir caves, a Punic then Roman quarry, provide an insight into the titanic work carried out here by slaves, who provided blocks of stone for cities such as Carthage and Rome.
