Ksar Ghilane : Michelin's recommendations

Ksar Ghilane is the most Saharan of the desert’s oases, but also the most visited. The citadel, located away from the palm grove, formed part of the limes of the Roman Empire. The highlight here is the hot water spring in which visitors can enjoy a swim – perfect first thing in the morning after a chill night in the desert. Sadly, the arrival of the road to Ksar Ghilane will bring with it car parks and hotels. On some days, a line of 4x4s can already be seen snaking its way on the road to the oasis. The best way to get here is by renting a car with a driver.
