Ksar Ouled Soltane : Michelin's recommendations

The Ksar Ouled Soltane, with its granaries built on four floors, is laid out around two highly photogenic courtyards. The stone façades here have been concealed beneath an outer protective layer, giving the ksar the impression of being built out of modelling clay. Steep staircases, seemingly in a state of weightlessness, lead up to the upper floors, while the granaries’ tiny doors are in keeping with the scale of the buildings. The small café at the entrance serves a very bitter tea flavoured with chirh, an aromatic plant commonly found in the region.
