Matmata : Michelin's recommendations

Buried between 5-10m underground, each of Matmata’s troglodyte dwellings is laid out around a central courtyard which allows lights to penetrate the various rooms in the house. Individual granary stores are located just above the living quarters, but still beneath ground.
