Nefta : Michelin's recommendations
With its numerous mosques and a hundred or so marabouts, the renowned Sufi site of Nefta is considered the second holiest town in Tunisia. Its oasis, fed by springs in a cirque known as the Corbeille de Nefta, is incredibly luxuriant, but is more modest than that of Tozeur, situated around 20km away. The town is a little less touristy than its neighbour and has preserved its medina, in which a number of traditional old residences are hidden.
