Built in the 16C, Dar Othman once belonged to Bey Othman, whose wealth came mainly from privateering (naval warfare which lasted from the 16C to the 19C). This modest-sized house comprises a ground floor and only four bedrooms. The bedrooms have unusual six-panel doors opening onto a small slightly overgrown yet charming garden. The Dar Othman is now home to the offices of the Medina Conservation Department, which is part of the Ministry of Culture.
