Most of the exhibits on display in this archaeological museum have come from excavations carried out at the site known as Simitthus to the Numidians and Chemtou to the Romans, providing valuable information on the two civilisations which once occupied this site. Don’t miss the gold coins and the Numidian temple dating from 130 BC, or the votive steles dating from the 2C and 3C AD. Marble fragments from neighbouring quarries show that this stone was used by the Numidians prior to the Roman period.
