Bibendum

Foça stands on the site of ancient Phocaea, inhabited by the Phocaeans who founded Marseille. Nowadays a popular tourist destination, Foça has two harbours split in two by a headland. On one side, Kucuk Deniz (the “small sea”) has all the attractive traits of a typical old port, where elegant whitewashed Greco-Ottoman houses look down on the colourful scene of fishing boats; and on the other, Buyuk Deniz (the “large sea”), home to several tourist complexes. The islands off the coast are home to a few of the last remaining monk seals in the Mediterranean.

Tourist attractions Foça : Things to see and do

  • Phocaean Coast Interesting

    TR - Yenifoça

The Phocaean Coast is a delightful stretch of the Mediterranean, characterised by tiny pine-fringed coves, intense turquoise-blue water and white limestone rock formations. Beyond Yenifoça, the road is extremely beautiful, and dotted with large stone..
