Amasya Museum
: Michelin's recommendations
The Amasya Museum’s collection ranges from the Hittite period, which is represented by jewellery and a small statue of Teshub, the god of thunder, to the Ottoman era, with exhibits such as carved wood panelling and period furniture, including a chest adorned with mother of pearl. The informative visit finishes in the garden, opposite the 14C mausoleum of Sultan Mesut, which houses the unusual and rather morbid spectacle of the mummified sovereign surrounded by his family.
