Situated on a rocky promontory overlooked by the snowy peaks of Akdag (3 030m) and Kizlar Sivrisi (3 086m), the ancient town of Arycanda faces a spectacularly beautiful panorama. The ruins of the town are well preserved, starting with the theatre that is shaded by pine trees and opens onto an extensive view of the mountains. As you wander through the site, you’ll pass the baths, necropolis and agora, but your eyes will be drawn time and time again to the landscapes themselves, which are simply stunning.
