Ethnography Museum, Ankara
: Michelin's recommendations
Dedicated to Anatolian traditions, the Ethnography Museum was founded by Atatürk in 1927. The atmosphere of Ottoman dwellings is brought to life through a collection of high quality everyday objects, furniture (wedding chests, cradles etc) and an array of mannequins dressed in traditional costume. The museum, which is also home to a fine collection of ceramics, architectural elements from civil and religious buildings, weapons and kilims, provides a well-ordered and nostalgic insight into the past.
