Adjoining the Eski Aynali Çarsi, the Koza Hani (the “Silk Cocoon” caravenserai, dating from 1490) has retained its original function as a trading place for silkworms, where villagers from the region congregate in June and September to sell their harvest. The south entrance (on Gazi Camii Parki) provides direct access to the first floor where merchants used to stay, while the shops and stables would have been on the ground floor. A small octagonal mosque (masgid) stands in the courtyard above a large pool. It was restored by the Aga Khan in 1985.
