Murat II Complex Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

Bibendum
Here also, enamelled Iznik tiles play a starring role, covering the tympanums and part of the prayer room with their geometric and floral motifs, and occasionally even celestial spheres and stars. The remarkable 15C Murat II complex is also renowned for its medersa and its cemetery, laid out like a park and planted with a vast array of roses and lilies in the shade of cypress trees to create a tranquil and heavenly scene. In particular, the complex houses the tomb of Murat II, who ordered the construction of the mosque and died in 1451; note the attractively carved painted wood awning preceding the tomb.
