Features are exactly as you'd expect them: koi ponds, pagodas, and a moon bridge that makes an excellent photo opportunity. Cross the bridge to Coconut Island for views of Hilo Bay with a backdrop of mountains. The garden is located on Banyan Drive on the Waiakea Peninsula, where the towering trees have their own stories: many were planted in the 1930s by famous folk such as Babe Ruth and Amelia Earhart.
