Johnstown Flood Museum
: Michelin's recommendations
Built in the Gothic Revival style, this library-turned-museum offers three floors of outstanding exhibits and an Academy Award-winning film, The Johnstown Flood. Called the worst natural disaster of the 19C, the flood was caused by a 36ft wall of water that thundered down this valley at speeds of up to 40mph from a burst dam on Lake Conemaugh, 450ft above Johnstown.
