Louisville Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

Bibendum

Kentucky's largest city was founded in 1778 at the falls of the Ohio River, an ideal stopping point for westward travelers. The community soon became ain important port and trading center, then a rail hub. Iron foundries here produced much of the country's decorative ironwork around the turn of the century. Today the downtown is a bustling blend of commerce, government and entertainment. Long a cultural center, Louisville boasts the acclaimed Actor's Theatre, a respected symphony and ballet, and the acclaimed Speed Art Museum. Along West Main Street, the major thoroughfare, you'll find the Louisville Slugger Museum and the Louisville Science Center.
