This confection of peach-colored concrete and glass block was remodeled by Morris Lapidus in 1976, and originally hosted comedian Jackie Gleason's popular television series from 1964 to 1970. The 3,000-seat theater now stages Broadway shows and ballets. Look for Roy Lichtenstein's red-and-white-striped Mermaid on the south lawn. Set into plaques on the adjacent yard are cement footprints of such celebrities as Chita Rivera, Julie Andrews and Miami Vice star Don Johnson.
