This lively, lengthy pedestrian mall abounds with trendy shops, galleries and restaurants that border a central planted thoroughfare of tiled fountains and coral rock pools. Lincoln Road is the oldest commercial street on the island, laid out in 1915 by Carl Fisher. Shops-specializing in antiques, jewelry, books and designer clothing-and galleries improve in quality as you go west of Drexel Avenue (most shops don't open until 11am). There are plenty of restaurants; several offer alfresco dining and an opportunity for serious people-watching.
