Housed in the restored, copper-domed Beth Jacob Orthodox Synagogue (1936, Henry Hohauser), this cultural institution opened in 1995 to display art and artifacts relating to more than 230 years of Jewish history in the Sunshine State. A 10-year study of Jews in Florida led to some 10,000 artifacts, photographs and mementos being combined in the MOSAIC exhibit, which became the museum's core collection in 1996. A continuously running video illustrates the struggles and achievements encountered by Jews since they first landed on the Florida coast.
