Exotic trees and animals inhabit the 52-acre garden park that began as a botanical collection in 1919. Visitors stroll among such trees as gumbo-limbo, jacaranda and Hong Kong orchid while viewing alligators, zebras, tigers and birds. The high point is a boat ride in an island-dotted pond that gives visitors a close look at agile primates, including the white-handed gibbon. Animal lectures and shows add to the fun.
