Art and architecture are suitably matched in this striking three-story showpiece adorning the Philharmonic campus. The $11 million, 15-gallery museum showcases temporary exhibits and a permanent collection of ancient Chinese and 20C American art. Permanently displayed on the first floor, the Gow Collection of Ancient Chinese Art spans 450BC to the 19C, including a rare model of a manor compound (Han dynasty) and a silver Tibetan oboe (14-15C). On the second floor, selections of American art from 1900 to 1955 include works by Jackson Pollock and Marsden Hartley.
