A modern educational facility, this 15-acre preserve boasts hands-on displays, live snakes and other exhibits on southwest Florida's various ecosystems. Outside, a boardwalk trail loops through a mangrove swamp and past a wildlife rehabilitation center, where injured pelicans and other birds take therapeutic swims. A boat ride on the Gordon River is included in the admission fee, and canoes and kayaks are available for rent.
